How to read color codes

How to read color code

The first and second band represent the numeric value of the resistor and the color of the third band represent the power of the tenth multiplier
Bands should always read from the left to right
The fourth band represent the tolerence of the band

Color code for resistors

Color code for resistors
Carbon composition and carbon film resistors to small to have the resistance value printed on there resistance, There fore bands of color are used to represent the resistance value

Types of Resistors

                            Types of Resistors

There are two types of resistors.
     1.Fixed resistors
     2.Variable resistors

Fixed Resistors are again classified in to
                             1. Carbon composition type resistors
                             2. Wire wound resistors
                             3. Metalized resistors

Resistance

                                                     RESISTANCE
Resistance of the object defined as the ratio of voltage across the current
                                          It is represented by R
                                             R=V/I
                                          V is voltage
                                           I is current
                                  Unit of resistance is Ohm
